La scusa del "Ma io questo film l'ho già visto!!!!"

Football-mad Clive and his co-star Julia Roberts were at the world premiere of steamy corporate spy story Duplicity in Leicester Square.

But the red-carpet bash clashed with the Reds’ Champions League meeting with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

He admitted he openly planned to sneak off a bit early from the premiere, joking: “I’ve seen this film before”.

Happily for Clive, Rafael Benitez’s men didn’t disappoint, humbling the La Liga champions in a 4-0 rout.

The movie Duplicity reunites the two actors for the first time since 2004 in the Oscar-nominated Closer.Roberts wore her hair tied back in a bun with a dark Dolce & Gabbana suit.

She described the atmosphere as “crazy and chilly” adding it was “wild out there”.

Asked if it was a tough decision to return to work after having her young family, she said: “No, that choice (was) easy to make.” She said the movie had a great script, a great director and Owen.

She said she did not have the bug to work but did have the bug to make great movies.

Asked how it was juggling work and family life, Roberts said it was “surprisingly easy.”

Duplicity tells the story of Claire Stenwick (Roberts) and Ray Koval (Owen) as two spies turned corporate workers who were having a clandestine love affair.

Asked what made Roberts so special Owen said: “She’s stunningly beautiful, clever, smart.”

Speaking about how he helped persuade Roberts to take on the role Owen said: “I did call her up and take her out for lunch and tell her that I had read the script and it was dynamite.

“She was pregnant so I had to wait another year before she finally said yes.”
