The International

Columbia has found its "International" man.

The studio landed Clive Owen to topline "The International," an action-thriller about an Interpol agent who investigates corruption at powerful banking institutions. The pic will be directed by Tom Tykwer, with lensing skedded to begin in September.

Eric Singer wrote the script and Mosaic Media Group's Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are producing, along with Lloyd Phillips. John Woo, Terence Chang and Jeff Lurie are exec producing.

Owen, who previously starred in "Closer" for the studio, also stars in New Line's upcoming "Shoot 'Em Up" and "The Golden Age" for U. He's also been cast to reprise his role in the "Sin City" sequel.

Mosaic has a number of projects in the works, including "Get Smart" and the next Batman installment, "The Dark Knight," both in production at Warner Bros., and "Rogue" at Lionsgate.

Clive Owen sarà il protagonista di The International, un thriller d'azione incentrato su un agente dell'Interpol che indaga su un caso di corruzione. Secondo il magazine Variety, le riprese del film - che sarà diretto da Tom Tykwer e scritto da Eric Singer - inizieranno a settembre.
La pellicola sarà prodotta dalla Mosaic Media Group di Charles Roven e Richard Suckle, mentre Lloyd Phillips. John Woo, Terence Chang e Jeff Lurie ne saranno i produttori esecutivi.

Attualmente Clive Owen ha appena terminato le riprese del dramma storico The Golden Age e di Shoot 'Em Up, un poliziesco di Michael Davis che uscirà nelle sale americane a partire da settembre. Inoltre l'attore inglese sarà nel cast di Sin City 2, l'atteso sequel del film di Robert Rodriguez ispirato alla graphic novel di Frank Miller.

Naomi Watts sarà tra i protagonisti di The International l'action-thriller che sarà diretto da Tom Tykwer per la Columbia Pictures. Accanto all'attrice inglese, che vestirà i panni di un procuratore distrettuale di Manhattan, ci sarà anche Clive Owen nel ruolo di un agente dell'Interpol che indaga su un caso di corruzione.

Di recente la Watts ha appena concluso le riprese di Eastern Promises di David Cronenberg, e di Funny Games, un thriller di Michael Haneke nel quale recita accanto a Tim Roth.

Le riprese di The International, la cui sceneggiatura è firmata da Eric Singer, si svolgeranno a Berlino.

Ulrich Thomsen (già visto nel bellissimo Non desiderare la donna d'altri) reciterà al fianco di Clive Owen e Naomi Watts in The International, dramma della Columbia Pictures incentrato sui loschi traffici del mondo della finanza.
Le riprese del film, diretto dal tedesco Tom Tikwer cominceranno presto a Berlino ed in Turchia.
Nella pellicola Thomsen interpreterà un banchiere coinvolto in un traffico d'armi; toccherà a Owen e alla Watts smascherarlo.
Vedremo presto l'attore anche in Hitman, pellicola tratta dal celebre videogioco.
